SOUTH BELOIT -- The city is now home to a new condominium development.
David Try and Johanna Koslofski of Valley-Realtors, have teamed up to offer Sauk Ridge Condominiums on Sauk Ridge Drive off of Liston Avenue.
"They are extremely affordable and are high quality," Try said.
The condominiums start at $145,000 and include a full basement, two or more bedrooms, two bathrooms and a two-car garage. Eventually the site will grow to 24 buildings, with 49 units.
Try and Koslofski are trying to appeal to lifelong residents of the area, who may prefer a maintenance free lifestyle.
"The neighborhood consists of a lot of residents that have lived there their whole lives," Try said.
The development is in a key location with access to Beloit, Janesville and Rockford. Because retirement income isn't taxed in Illinois, Koslofski said many seniors may consider moving over the border.
At an open house held a week ago, more than 60 people came to check out the condominiums. With such a positive response, Try and Koslofski hope to be sold out in two to three years.
Construction on the condominium development started late last fall and now a couple of buildings are up. Weather has been the only challenge to the project. Construction of more condos continues in the development.
Try said that First American Credit Union will offering 4.99 percent financing to qualified buyers.
